The second virtual meeting was also a success!

3 members joined the meeting. 1 couldn't come but showed interest.

It lasted from 7-8:30 pm EDT this time because of academic demand.

We had some issues for Jitsi Meet, because some people didn't to install another browser (Chrome) just for Jitsi Meet. (I also wish it worked well on Firefox too.) We looked at GNU Jibri and it wouldn't let us make groups. We hesitantly moved to Microsoft Teams for this meeting.

We then realized there was a desktop app that would work and they accepted that: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron/releases/tag/v1.1.1

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE DESKTOP APP: Download the AppImage at the above link, run cd ~/Downloads in a terminal, then chmod +x jitsi-meet-x86_64.AppImage in the same window, then run it by typing ./jitsi-meet-x86_64.AppImage and let it integrate with your system (it won't modify anything deep in the system, just adds a shortcut to the app) and enter RHLUG-Virtual-Meeting in the "Enter a name for your conference" box to join.

We apologize that we had to do this. It was a last resort and we will carefully look at the open-source options next time.

Here are some things we talked about (yay buzzwords!):

Minecraft server related[edit | edit source]

- Pterodactyl, running multiple IPs as 1 "computer"

- MultiMC, MC Forge, Fabric

- Cloudflare's multiple computers = 1 IP address technology

RHIT/Terre Haute related[edit | edit source]

- Abe Silverstein, named the Apollo missions, went to RHIT

- Bernard V. Vonderschmitt

Academics related[edit | edit source]

- ECE203, CSSE473, CSSE230
